Sometimes we have to pause and look and listen to what nature provides. The population calling my backyard home are fifteen different bird species, butterflies, Koi, one very large bullfrog and his grandchildren, squirrels getting fatter by the minute from the bird feeder, chameleons puffing pink throats, bumble bees on a mission, and blue and red dragonflies tipping and dipping above the pond. The sentry in charge is Schnauzer-Scooter who drinks from the pond more than guards.

ReplyDeletebutterfly koi seem to lack some of the body size of regular koi, but the overall fish can run as long as 36 to 40 inches in the right pond
